Great White Tracked off SC Coast

Shark tagged off Cape Cod spends time in local waters.

A 16-foot great white shark apparently spent time in local waters last week as it swam from Massachusetts to coastal Georgia.

The shark, named Mary Lee by researchers, was tagged with a global positioning device in September off Cape Cod, Mass. Since then, the 3,400-pound shark has meandered along the eastern seaboard.

On Tuesday, the fish was off the coast of Savannah. While in the Lowcountry over the weekend, its tracking website indicates Mary Lee swam all over the local area from Friday until Saturday.
