Breast Cancer Charity Event set for Saturday

Share our Suzie hosting charity party at Memorial Waterfront Park this Saturday.

Share Our Suzy presents the 9th Annual Suzy McGrane Memorial Event on Saturday in Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. The event steps off at 6 p.m., and the show will feature The Law Band, Tootie and the Jones and The Moonshiners.

The Law Band, from Atlanta, has been described as a "hard rockin' country act with influences of Americana, rockabilly, bluegrass and psychedelic that appeals to both the rural roughneck and urban artist in us all."

Columbia’s Tootie and the Jones are well known from their days as a stalwart of the University of South Carolina party rock scene. Local Americana duo The Moonshiners will open the show.

Share Our Suzy is non-profit organization with a mission to honor the spirit of Suzy McGrane by raising money and resources to assist and support breast cancer patients from diagnosis to remission. After being first diagnosed in her early 20s and completing her initial treatments, McGrane dedicated herself to helping other breast cancer patients. Since she lost her battle with cancer in 2005, Share Our Suzie has furthered her legacy with annual fundraising events, the proceeds of which directly enhance the quality of life of breast cancer patients in South Carolina.
