Yoga Marathon Set for Oct. 6

Louie's Kids plan event to raise funds to fight childhood obesity.

Louie’s Kids organizers announce their annual Whole Foods Market Yoga Marathon to raise funds for programs throughout the Charleston area and throughout the Lowcountry for underprivileged overweight and obese children.

On Saturday, Oct. 6, participants will fill the Marion Square in Charleston from nonn to 3 p.m. as nine of Charleston’s yoga instructors lead the way in Marion Square, rain or shine.

Instructors will call 12 sun salutations each to total 108 poses. There also will be a mini Kid’s Yogathon led by children’s instructors from local kid-friendly studios.

“We are so excited to host this special day again to benefit Louie’s Kids”, says Louis Yuhasz, Founder and CEO if Louie’s Kids. “The yoga community has been so good to us, and yoga connects so beautifully with our mission, so it is a natural fit to host this event."
