Operation R&R Charleston and are inviting the public to help send off the 16th Airlift Squadron on Friday as it deploys to the Middle East.
The send-off party runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant pub. is offering a special VIP menu for military and their dependents and happy hour drink specials for everyone. The public is encouraged to meet, thank and send off these troops.
The event is sponsored by Operation R&R Charleston, a non-profit which provides vacations and other perks to returning service men and women. It's part of the larger national Operation R&R organization.
