Mt. Pleasant Trainer Tips: How to Kick-Start Fat Loss
Avoid common pitfalls that doom your weight loss.
If you're trying to shed a few pounds, there are a several key steps you should be taking to see results more quickly, according to Brian Durbin, a personal trainer with Fitness Together in Mount Pleasant.
1. H.I.I.T it: High Interval Intensity Training is all the rage. It involves breaking up 4-minute work outs into 20-second chunks of high intensity activity followed less intense activity, followed by more intense activity. It's the ideal approach to burn fat, Durbin said.
2. Strength train: Dieting and exercise can help lose weight, but you'll see more dramatic, long-term results if you use weights and resistance techniques to build muscle. Three times a week at a minimum.

3. Nutrition: Eat regularly to keep your metabolism cooking. It will also help you avoid hunger impulses that often send dieters to junk food as between-meal snacks. Recording your food is also essential. Keep track of your intake and make changes as your results shift.
