'Leader in Me' Founder Sean Covey Visits SC in October

Sean Covey will speak about his seven habits for success for children, which has been implemented across 700 schools around the world.

NORTH CHARLESTON — Sean Covey, the man behind The Leader in Me program, newly adopted in schools across the state, will speak at an Oct. 9 luncheon at Trident Technical College's Complex for Economic Development.

Covey is also the author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. Tickets are $45. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.

This is only the second time Covey has visited the state to talk about his leadership-building ideas.

Covey wrote his self-help book based on his father's well-known book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Stephen Covey died this past July. Giving access to leadership for younger children, Sean Covey founded the international program called The Leader in Me. See more books by Covey here.

The Leader in Me, which first came to the state in 2010 at Summerville Elementary School, integrates vital leadership principles into elementary school culture and curriculum. The program will expand into middle schools this year in Dorchester County School District Two.
