Town to Certify Election on Friday

New council to be sworn in on Tuesday.

Mount Pleasant will certify the results of Tuesday’s election at a special 11 a.m. Friday meeting. The council will be sworn in on Tuesday, November 15.

On Tuesday, roughly 22,000 voters cast ballots in Mount Pleasant. They sent two incumbents back to office and elected two newcomers.

Ken Glasson and Thomasena Stokes-Marshall will be back at the dais later this. Chris Nickels and Chris O’Neal are the newcomers.

All four will be sworn in at the panel’s regular meeting on Tuesday, November 15. Paul Gawrych, who opted not to seek another term, and Nick Collins, who was not re-elected on Tuesday, will sit at just two more council meetings.
