Graham Says Romney Will Be the GOP Nominee

Pronouncement comes on the heels of DeMint's meeting with former Mass. Gov.

Even though he lost another primary on Saturday to Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney received more good news from the Republican Party establishment this weekend.  

In a Sunday morning appearance on CNN, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said the former Massachusetts Gov. "will be the nominee."

Graham's statement comes just days after Sen. Jim DeMint emerged from a meeting with Romney and said he was "excited" about Romney being the nominee.

Neither Graham nor DeMint went so far as to officially endorse Romney, but their words are welcome to a Romney campaign that has struggled to excite the GOP base.

In the January primary in South Carolina, Romney lost by double-digits to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Since then, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum has emerged as Romney's most formidable opposition.
