Biden to Visit Sullivan's Island

Vice President in Lowcountry to raise money for Obama re-election.

Vice President Joe Biden is expected on Sullivan's Island Tuesday for a $10,000-per-person fundraiser at a private residence.

Official details about his visit aren't available, but airspace in parts of Charleston will be closed from about 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the visit, various media outlets are reporting.

It's not Biden's first visit to the Lowcountry. He vacationed on Kiawah Island at Easter and he held a similar high-dollar fundraiser at Charleston Place in February.

Both trips closed streets and snarled traffic for hours.

This trip reportedly benefits the Obama Victory Fund, which sends funds to the Obama for America election fund, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.
