Sesame Street Composer Found Guilty of Child Pornography

Fernando Rivas sentenced to 15 years.

U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles announced to multiple media outlets that a former "Sesame Street" composer has been found guilty of making child pornography.

Fernando Rivas, 61, of Ladson was sentenced to 15 years this week for taking nude pictures and video of a 4-year-old child. Rivas pleaded guilty in December on the charges of child exploitation. 

Rivas worked as a composer for "Sesame Street" and other children's shows. He earned Emmy's along with fellow composers. Rivas was also a former teacher at Charleston area private school Porter Gaud.
