Mount Pleasant Man Arrested in Mail Order Pot Scheme

Police: Suspect purchased marijuana from Colorado through the mail.

A Mount Pleasant man is facing a handful of drug charges after police uncovered an alleged plot to buy marijuana and hashish through the mail from Colorado, according to reports.

Authorities say they were alerted to the alleged crime after intercepting a suspicious package at a commercial shipping facility. Officers identified a shipment that included a half pound of marijuana and a small amount of hashish. 

Officers delivered the drugs in a sting to a Mount Pleasant residence. Maxwell Blank, 22, allegedly accepted the shipment and then went to a nearby school parking lot with two other individuals.

Police arrested Blank, and he reportedly admitted to the plot. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within proximity of a school, possession with intent to distribute hashish, and possession with intent to distribute hashish within proximity of a school.
