Hotel Evacuated After Bomb Threat

Nothing unusual found after 4 a.m. evacuation.

Guests at a Mount Pleasant hotel were evacuated early Monday morning after a bomb threat was phoned into the hotel.

The Holiday Inn Express on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard cleared the entire property at 4:15 a.m. after a caller told a hotel operator there was a bomb in the building, according to police.

A night clerk pulled the fire alarm to clear the building.

"Police and Fire responded to the scene. A search was conducted with the hotel staff," said Sgt. Chris Helms, police spokesman.  "Nothing out of the ordinary was located."

Guests were allowed to return to their rooms at 5 a.m. Firefighters reset the alarm.
