During a press conference at Charleston Police Department both the mother of a homicide victim and the Mayor of Charleston pleaded for the public's help.
Liz Paige told reporters all she has left of her son, Marley Lion, is a lock of his hair. She begged the public for their help in finding the
"Please help us to keep your children and our children safe... Please help us," Paige told the crowd of reporters.
Marley was shot at least five times around 4 a.m. June 16 by an unknown gunman while he was sleeping in his SUV in the parking lot of Famous Joe's Bar on Savannah Highway, according to a police report. He died from his wounds, but not before he was able to speak briefly with officers on scene.
Mayor Joe Riley also came forward to ask that anyone with information call police.
"The pleas of this grieving mother should ring in the ears and be felt in the heard of every citizen in our community," Riley said. "We cannot rest until this vicious killer is brought to justice."
A $13,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest in the case.
