Charleston Co. EMS Worker Charged With Sexual Assault

Anthony Green has been suspended effective immediately without pay.

A Charleston County EMS employee has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a female victim, while she was being transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

Anthony Louis Green, 45, of Goose Creek was arrested on Jan. 12, as a result of an investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a female victim on June 10, 2011. He has been charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree. Green also has been suspended without pay from Charleston County EMS, where he had been employed full-time as an EMS worker since May 2001, but had worked for the agency since July 1999 as a temporary worker.

The victim was transported in a Charleston County Ambulance from Mount Pleasant to Roper Hospital in Charleston when the alleged assault occurred, police said.

In a statement issued by Charleston County officials, Green immediately was placed on administrative duty with no patient contact and under constant supervision, while an investigation by the Town of Mount Pleasant Police Department was occurring.

Green will have a bond hearing at 9 a.m. on Friday.
