Man says cops were 'lucky' he wasn't armed when officers stormed his room.

The alleged bank robber known as the "boastful bandit" is making some pretty outrageous comments directed at Mount Pleasant police.

Craig Ozarowski, who was just released from a New Jersey prison on bank robbery charges, reportedly robbed a bank in a busy part of Mount Pleasant last week.

From behind bars this week, the New Jersey native told Live5News anchor Raphael James that Mount Pleasant police are "lucky to be alive."

Cops stormed Ozarowski's hotel room just moments after the alleged robbery. He had apparently walked to the SunTrust bank at Johnnie Dodds and Houston Northcutt boulevards from his Holiday Inn Express hotel room.

Ozarowski was armed with an Airsoft pistol, but he indicated to James that if had been armed with a real gun, officers could have faced serious violence.

The suspect has a long history of bragging about his crimes. He was given the "boastful bandit" monicker for his habit of calling police to brag after apparently robbing several banks.
