Another Sex Abuse Claim at Citadel

Underclassmen report graduate for sexual advances.

More sex abuse claims have surfaced at The Citadel, according to media reports. The latest charge by underclassmen against a more senior cadet alleges unwanted dorm-room sexual advances on a handful of occasions in 2010, ABC News 4 reports.

Two cadets reported incidents to Citadel public safety officers last week, Citadel spokeswoman Charlene Gunnels told the TV station.

The supposed sexual assault happened 18 months ago on campus. The accused was a 2011 graduate and is no longer at the Citadel.

According to the report from the Citadel's Department of Public Safety, there are two separate incidents filed against the same former cadet, both happening in his dorm room.

Both cadets report similar episodes in which the graduate propositioned them for sex and the advances were rejected by the underclassmen. In one incident, however, the alleged victim said the upperclassman tried to kiss him.

These reports follow the high-profile arrest and guilty plea by former Citadel cadet Louis "Skip" ReVille, who is alleged to have engaged in sex acts with summer camp participants.

One allegation went unreported for years, but when that victim came forward, the public military university did not report the case to police. ReVille later went on to molest dozens of young boys he encountered through various church, education and sporting programs.

Last week, a federal judge tossed two of three counts of a lawsuit against Citadel President John W. Rosa. The victim in that case, identified at John Doe 2, contends the school did not do enough to stop ReVille before he victimized more boys.

ReVille was sentenced earlier this summer to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty and admitting to the widespread sex abuse charges.
