TROPICAL STORM ISAAC: The storm caused alarm for East Coast residents when its path suggested it could swing this way. Now headed for the coasts of Mississippi and Louisiana, it's impacts here are likely minimal. Follow the coverage.

BIZARRE BRIDGE INCIDENT: Traffic was halted this week when a woman was reported to have jumped from the Ravenel Bridge. Police found a woman below the cable-stayed span, but it wasn't clear if she actually jumped. An accident around the same time created a huge traffic mess. Read more.

SCHOOL BOARD RESIGNATION: A Charleston County School board member resigns just 11 weeks before her term was set to end. The position has since been filled temporarily.
