Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Married at Boone Hall

People reports famous couple's nuptials exchanged at Mount Pleasant plantation.

Celebrity couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have reportedly been married in Mount Pleasant, according to media reports.

A source confirms to PEOPLE that the couple tied the knot Sunday night at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston, PEOPLE magazine reports.

The reception took place in a white tent at the plantation on Sunday evening. Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a good friend of the Gossip Girl star, performed three songs live, and there was also a deejay who spun tunes. PEOPLE also confirmed that a cake was being driven down from Virginia for the event.

Lively, 25, is known for her starring role in the CW series Gossip Girl. Reynolds, 35, has led billing in a handful of blockbuster movies, including Green Lantern, National Lampoon's Van Wilder, Just Friends and Definitely, Maybe, among others.

Boone Hall traces its roots to the 1600s. Its oak-shaded driveway is one of the Lowcountry's most photographed visages. The property features a large 1930s-built mansion as well as nine period slave cabins. It's a popular tourist destination, but the property is also still a working farm.

I do not even know who these "stars" are and really could care less. What a waste of time and effort and paper space on inconsequential people. The "news", as reported, of course had to mention that the $3000 cake was driven in from Maryland--more of these superficial "stars" and their superficial lives. Does anyone really expect to see them at Boone Hall celebrating their 5 year anniversary---as if the marriage will last that long among these "stars". Celebrity wedding? Give me a break.

I'm equally baffled by the fascination, Ambassador. But if my visitation numbers are any indication, Americans adore celebrities. And their decision to get married here probably has some residual impact on the wedding tourism business, so it's not all bad.

I hope it translates into more business for the owners of Boone Hall, local vendors & business owners. The couple are respectable actors & to have their wedding here (when they could have it anywhere) speaks to the reputation of Charleston/Mt P as a beautiful place to visit with warm, welcoming atmosphere, great history & hospitality. Well done, Boone Hall!

Good point, Allison. For celebrity weddings, you certainly could do worse, as far as reputation goes.

I agree with you; some of us might not follow particular celebs, but others,do, and hollywood friends and ect., might like what they see of the area, and host events. It would promote other good things to come forth. The area is beautiful, and it is good that it got some PRESS; it will be seen, around the world. Good for you, Mt. Pleasant!
