A 3,000-square-foot home on Kiawah Island is the HGTV Dream Home 2013, and it could be yours.
The annual giveaway showcases the latest in building technology, appliances and home furnishings. Participants have the chance to enter online twice daily — once at HGTV.com and again at FrontDoor.com — to win the home starting Dec. 28.
The home, along with a GMC Denali SUV and $500,000 in cash (presumably for all the taxes), will be awarded to one sweepstake participant in March 2013.
The property will be the subject of a month's worth of programming on the cable network. Previous homesites have included Beaufort, St. Mary's, Ga., and Jackson Hole, Wy., among other locations.
Located in Indigo Park, the island's first sustainable community, the Dream Home lies on a tidal marsh and demonstrates a “Low-Country Zen” design by architect Christopher Rose, according to the network.
Homes in the development are listed at $1.75 million to well over $2 million, according to the development's website.
"This year’s HGTV Dream Home epitomizes coastal living at its best," said Jack Thomasson, HGTV professional home planner. "Our developer partners are meticulous stewards of the environment and recognize that building a spectacular HGTV Dream Home can co-exist with preserving the beauty and unique attributes of Kiawah Island."
The fully furnished home is two stories and features a double-height great room, large gourmet kitchen and multi-purpose loft space overlooking the main level. Outdoor spaces feature sweeping porches and a plunge pool.
