Silhouette Artist Clay Rice Coming to Wonder Works

Wonder Works stores in West Ashley and Mount Pleasant will host local silhouette artist Clay Rice this weekend

With digital cameras embedded in almost every cell phone these days almost every parent has hundreds of photos of their kids, but how many have old fashioned silhouettes?

On Saturday local silhouette artist Clay Rice will be creating the classic cut-outs at stores in West Ashley and Mount Pleasant. Rice has been featured in Southern Living Magazine's Christmas Gift Guide.

Rice will be creating custom silhouettes from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant store at 624 D Longpoint Road, and from 3 - 6 p.m. at the West Ashley store at 975 Savannah Hwy.

"Clay Rice is such a talented local artist whose work we regularly feature in our stores, and we’re excited to welcome him again in our Wonder Works stores," Owner Christine Osborne said. "It only takes 5 minutes for Clay to create a silhouette portrait. It is fun and easy for kids to enjoy and creates timeless and memorable artwork for parents to cherish."

Families are encouraged to schedule an appointment with Rice on Saturday by calling 573-9300 for a time-slot in West Ashley, or 849-6757 for an appointment at the Mount Pleasant store.

More details about Rice's appearance are available on Wonderworks' website and Facebook page.
