Widening Starts Tonight on Mathis Ferry Road
Roundabout at Walt Miller and Mathis Ferry to open Wednesday.
Sanders Brothers Construction Company plans to begin road work on Mathis Ferry Road beginning at Wingo Way stopping just short of Bowman Road starting on Sunday, July 28.
The work consists of widening the existing road two feet on each side. The work is expected to take two days, weather permitting. Lane closures with flagging operations are scheduled each night from 9 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Motorists should expect delays and may want to use an alternate route if possible. Please use caution when approaching this work zone area.
On Wednesday, Gulf Stream Construction Company plans to shift traffic onto the new roundabout at the intersection of Mathis Ferry Road and Walt Miller Road effective at 6 a.m.
The roundabout will be operational; however, the contractor will continue working in the area. Motorists should continue to use caution when approaching this work zone area.
