Mount Pleasant native Brooke Mosteller vying for Miss America title.

Mount Pleasant Native and Miss South Carolina Brooke Mosteller begins her second week in Atlantic City today as competition for the Miss America Pageant gets underway. 

She'll compete in groups during the contest's preliminary contests. The final night of competition, which includes the crowning, will take place Sunday and will be aired live on ABC. 

Here's Mosteller's competition schedule. She's competing in the "Alpha Group."

Monday - Interview
Tuesday - Talent
Wednesday - On Stage Question
Thursday - Swimsuit/Evening Wear

The pageant's finalists are determined by their performance in the preliminary contests. Folks at home can follow Mosteller's scores online

Mosteller is the 23-year-old daughter of Rick Mosteller and Cyndi Campsen-Mosteller. Her uncle is State Sen. Chip Campsen. A standout student and scholar, Mosteller was salutatorian of her high school graduating class and racked up accolades in track and field and tennis. She completed her first year of law school at USC earlier this year.

Mosteller ran track and field and played tennis at Furman University, where she received her undergraduate degree. At Wando High School, she led her team to four straight AAAA state tennis championships as well as four straight undefeated years in conference play. She was named a Lowcountry all-star player.
