Mr. Guthrie helped with a wills clinic with other young lawyers in throughout the state of South Carolina. The clinic provided those that participated in the event with a complimentary simple last will and testament along with advance directives including a Healthcare Power of Attorney and a Living Will also known as a Declaration of Desire for Natural Death. Those in the Habitat program were alerted to the clinic in advance and were able to make appointments for a scheduled time to come in and take care of their planning needs. Attorney Guthrie was joined by several other lawyers from South Carolina to team up and make a successful event serving several homeowners. This was the third Habitat For Humanity Wills Clinic that Mr. Guthrie participated in the year after organizing and leading successful events at Horry Habitat in Myrtle Beach, SC and Dorchester Habitat in Summerville, SC. Attorney Guthrie enjoyed using his legal talents in one of his main practice areas of estate planning to help serve a segment of the community that can be vulnerable to the ramifications of the probate court process when there is no will involved.
