Patrick Pledges To Protect Taxpayers

Patrick Pledges To Protect Taxpayers

Hilton Head Island, SC – State Representative and congressional candidate Andy Patrick(R-SC) signed the American’s For Tax Reform “Taxpayer Protection Pledge,” committing to the people of South Carolina’s 1st congressional district that he will be a responsible steward of their tax dollars while representing them in the House of Representatives.

The “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” states: “ONE, oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and TWO, oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.”

Andy Patrick said: “This Congress and this Administration have wasted hundreds of billions of hard-earned taxpayer dollars over the past four years.  Our government does not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.  I am committed to going to Washington, to be a responsible steward of the people’s money, and to not raise taxes on hard-working Americans.  The idea that you should balance your budget, square your books, and not spending more than is necessary is a value universally held by people all across the Lowcountry, exactly the type of Lowcountry value I plan on bringing with me to Congress.”
