'Undercover Boss' Films at Local Moe's

Local viewers of "Undercover Boss" may notice some familiar faces and places on Friday when an episode of the popular CBS reality show focuses on the Houston Northcutt Blvd. Moe's Southwest Grill.

Moe’s President Paul Damico will have his personal and professional journey spotlighted this week on the hit CBS series “Undercover Boss.” The show airs Friday at 8 p.m. on the CBS Television Network.  

“It’s not every day you’re given the opportunity to take an inside look at your business without any filters," Damico said. "I wanted a chance to see why Moe’s is standing out in the marketplace and what we can improve on as a leader in the fast casual restaurant industry."

"Undercover Boss" follows American executives as they pretend to be new employees participating in a documentary about their experiences. Plot lines shift from episode to episode, but unsuspecting co-workers are unaware they are working alongside one of their bosses.

The execs, usually CEOs, spotlight hardworking employees and gain insight about company weaknesses. In the end, they often award lavish gives, bonuses and promotions on those employees who demonstrated the greatness strengths or most compelling stories.

“I walked away from this experience extraordinarily proud of our crew members and the operations team throughout our restaurant organization,” Damico said.

Damico was named president of Moe’s Southwest Grill in 2008 after a long foodservice industry career with companies such as SSP America, FoodBrand, LLC, and Host Marriott Service Corporation, all industry leaders in the restaurant business.

During the segment, Damico participated in food preparation with a shift supervisor, working the register with a general manager, going on sales calls with a catering director and rolling burritos with a line cook.
