Michael and Thelma King invested in Topper's Rhum before their death.

A Caribbean rum linked to the Mount Pleasant couple killed in St. Maarten is now available in South Carolina liquor stores.

Michael and Thelma King, a wealthy Mount Pleasant couple that split their time between South Carolina and the Dutch Caribbean island, invested heavily in the rum distillery before their deaths in September.

According to the Facebook page for Topper's Rhum, the flavored alcohol is now being distributed in South Carolina stores by Prime Beverage Imports.

St. Maarten authorities have arrested three men for the King's slaying. The trial was set to begin today for suspects Meyshane Kemar Johnson, 28, Jeremiah Chevon Mills, 17, and Jamal Jefferson Woolford, 20, but additional investigative work, including a mental evaluation of a suspect, caused a postponement.

King family members are expected to attend the court procedings.
