Whether the economy is good, bad or somewhere in between, most of us can’t afford to buy new clothes for ourselves or our children all the time.
And often, we’re looking for ways to make a little money to help our families.
Thank goodness for thrift stores and consignment shops.
When you’re looking for “experienced” clothing for your family, or a place to sell some of your own clothes, what thrift store or consignment shop do you visit?
Vote for your favorite store in Goose Creek, Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley to be part of our "Best Thrift or Consignment Store" contest as Patch unveils its Readers' Choice. Nominations ended July 9. Winners will be announced in August.
Don't just vote, tell us why you picked your favorite in the comments. If your favorite isn't on the list, throw them a shout out in the comments below.

Oh I agree! Albert's Attic IS the best around. They have very helpful staff AND they offer a layaway plan.

Yep. Albert's Attic get my vote. For one, they are CLEAN. A lot of these places stink. Albert's Attic has really unique stuff too. Plus they have pickers that will help find stuff for you if they don't have it. It's a cool place to shop.

Just read the posts about Albert's Attic -- best kept secret - well, maybe not now - around. They always have great stuff and they have a great staff that is very helpful. Plus - and this is the best part - their prices are lower than you'll find anywhere.
Bought all my stuff for my college apartment there last year and I still go just to look to see what's new.

The best thrift store I have found is eBay. I buy about 80% of my teenage daughter's new clothes for less than $5 w/free shipping-it takes some pre-planning and patience but it is worth it. We can shop in our jammies, save gas, and don't have to search for a parking space or fight crowds!
