Gov. Chris Christie's campaign for the the Republican presidential nomination never got started, as the often-blunt New Jersey politician announced Tuesday he would not seek the office in 2012.

But in this week's Huffington Post/ Patch poll, conservative influentials in South Carolina, Iowa and New Hampshire said Christie ranked just as well as Gov. Rick Perry and former Gov. Mitt Romney.

Eighty percent of the 156 Republicans who responded said Christie would make a good president, and 76 percent said he could beat President Obama in the general election. Those numbers are similiar to those garnered by Perry and Romney.

And 56 percent of those polled, when asked for one word to describe Christie, responded with a positive word and only 16 percent replied with an obviously negative word. See the word cloud attached for the words most-often used.

Christie for President? That's a joke. He made his name busting NJ politicians, giving a bad image of the reigning politicos. That is why the state system wants him to run; so he'll leave NJ and rejoin the federals who gave him the power as AG. Forget about him; it's their locals saying we want you to leave.

I don't know much about Chris Christie, but if I were him, I'd wait on this one too. Polling data, though negative toward Obama will still get the outspoken Obama supporters, the one's in the closet and enough independents to just barely tip the election in his favor. None of the republican candidates appeal to the swing-voters. Christie will take a few years to clean-up his domestic issues, before going full bore for 2016. Who knows if there will even be a 2016 election?

At this point Fred Flintston would look good to the GOP circus arena. This entire GOP attack on the American people is tyranny at best. The only people that will vote for a Republican are the dellusional crowds that would vote for them no matter how much hardship they instill on thier families. I use to think that the Republican Party was a good healthy balance to the government. Those days are long gone, I am not interested in the corporate take over scam they are selling these days. Support Occupy Wall Street that is the message that should of been out there long ago. With this country in turmoil at this time the last thing we should be concerned about is styrofoam plates and light bulb or Shria law. Todays Republicans must go.
