Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Walmart Stabbing Death

Darius Green pleads guilty, avoids trial for December 2011 homicide.

A 20-year-old Georgetown man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the fatal Mount Pleasant stabbing death that shocked a community and led to safety fears at a popular shopping complex.

The death is traced to a December 2011 incident in which Darius Green argued with then 20-year-old David Moultrie in the Walmart parking lot at the Shops at Oakland Plantation.

When the argument escalated, Green reportedly stabbed Moultrie, police said at the time. Moultrie went inside the Walmart where he worked and collapsed in the lobby.
