Man Arrested for Child Pornography

Former EMT arrested after pawn shop finds illegal content.

A Mount Pleasant man has been charged with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor after a pawn shop allegedly found child pornography on a laptop the man sold back in December.

Police were alerted to Justin Francis, 28, after Money Man Pawn employees called police to report "several incest and child pornography videos" on the laptop computer, according to a police report.

Francis, a former EMT for a private ambulance company, reportedly pawned the laptop before Christmas, but employees at Money Man Pawn did not go through the device until after the holidays, according to a police report.

The device also contained a written story detailing sex between a father and his juvenile daughter as well as images or videos of bestiality, according to the report.

Police searched Francis's home, which he reportedly shared with his brother, father and young daughter. His brother told officers that at least some of the pornography may have come from an external hard drive that he had acquired while at military training.

The brother was not charged. Justin Francis was released on a $25,000 bond and ordered to stay away from anyone under the age of 18, according to court records. He's due back in court in May.
