Fleet Week Features Slew of Events

Event capped by annual Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday.

Fleet Week is back! Shrimp cooking demonstrations, free shagging lessons, wine and painting at Alhambra Hall, and Shaggin’ on the Cooper will lead to the 26th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival presented by East Cooper Medical Center at Memorial Waterfront Park on Sunday, April 28.

Old Village Post House Shrimp Cooking Demonstration
Tuesday, April 23, 5:00 p.m.

One of Mount Pleasant’s favorite restaurants, the Old Village Post House will offer a cooking demonstration using farm-fresh ingredients at the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market.

Mount Pleasant Senior Center Lunch and Learn
Wednesday, April 24th, Noon

Come join East Cooper Medical Center Emergency Room Physicians for a delicious lunch while learning what to do for injuries on the water or beach. Pre-registration for each luncheon is required in order to attend; sign up is available by the Senior Center Front Desk. Lunch is provided at no charge to members and non-members can attend for $5. Lunch is being provided by East Cooper Medical Center. Bon appétit!

Wine & Design Painting Class

Paint your own masterpiece with step-by-step instruction. Wine & Design has created a new painting especially for the Blessing of the Fleet. No experience necessary. Includes Westbrook Brewery beer, Glazed gourmet doughnut and a unique metal painting masterpiece created by you! Refreshments available.

Put on your dancing shoes and come learn the Charleston Shag on the Mount Pleasant Pier. Enjoy sunset in the park and get ready for a great weekend with free dance lessons.
