Children's Day Set for Sunday

The 25th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Children's Day Festival is set for Sunday, Oct. 21, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at the Park West Recreation Complex.

“Children’s Day is a beloved tradition in Mount Pleasant and it’s the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of our beautiful fall weather,” said Special Event Planner Nicole Harvey. “This year’s theme is ‘Under the Big Top’ and will give center stage to the magical world of the circus.”

Professional entertainment will include Johnny Peers and the Muttville Comix (a slapstick comedy act featured on David Letterman and the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus), Revolve Aerial Dance, juggler and unicyclist and fire eater Mark Lippard, songwriterand "King of Kazoo" Rick Hubbard and Cupcake the Clown.

Local Entertainment will include various dance groups, Suzuki Guitar, cheerleaders and karate schools. Admission and all activities are free. Kids will go home with lots of prizes, giveaways and Halloween bags. The “Train Track” sponsored by Re/Max Advanced Realty will offer trackless train rides.

Other free activities will include giant inflatable attractions, mechanical rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon art, a reptile exhibit, game booths, and child-related nonprofit exhibitor booths.
